Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

"There is a middle road between understanding nothing and understanding too much, a juste milieu which poets instinctively respect more than their critics."

-Eugenio Montale

Although the paintings are abstract, I am interested in narrative, not the panorama of a novel, but the honed language of a poem. The imagery, influenced by biology and nature, employing geometry, ciphers and symbols is familiar but their context is unfamiliar. Countless interpretations and analysis of the relationships are available to the viewer. I hope this gives the work it's resonance and enduring interest.
