Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Living in a society that often encourages the invalidation of one's own pain to avoid additional suffering - ironically leading to deeper, more insidious pain that undermines our personal autonomy by impacting emotional and psychological health - I’ve come to see self-compassion as a political act. In my interdisciplinary practice, I use various mediums such as drawings, ceramics, sculpture, assemblage, writing, performance, and social media to explore the connection between mind and body through the focus on chronic illness, reclaiming of autonomy through empathy, the transformational power of storytelling, how this connection is our closest form of time travel, privileges of resources, and hierarchies in the arts.
I have a personal stake in this investigation as I find myself in a state of “buffering” - waiting for my body to find reconnection to her spirit, after I came out of a decade long PTSD induced dissociative amnesia. Through the exercise of self-compassion I hope to heal my body and mind to make it a welcoming, and even a familiar environment to entice my spirit back to me.
