Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My practice is centered in painting, incorporating sewing, fringe and velvet with conventions of the medium. I begin by adding and removing color from canvas or velvet, working with traditional brushes but also directly with my hands, weed sprayers, or household mops. I slice and rejoin the paintings sewing fringe into the seams—introducing a curious “mark” with movement and texture. Abstract but loosely figurative, they often have one or more articulated thumbnails—paintings within paintings—combining the unpredictability of abstract processes with the intimacy of picture-making.
My work rethinks Greek mythology from a contemporary feminist perspective. I don’t work towards a literal re-presentation of characters, but rather one mysterious, psychological, and symbolic; celebrating the Dionysian qualities, typically mistrusted and maligned, ascribed to women throughout history and that still permeate current ideology.
