Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

My work investigates the relationship between the natural world and the human-made realm of objects and built environments. From this foundation, I explore how art can evoke a sense of wonder and the sacred, even when depicting the mundane or easily overlooked.

Rooted in the tradition of representational painting, my work engages narrative through metaphor and symbolism. Often marked by tenderness and a quiet bemusement, it remains attuned to the social, political, and environmental realities of our time—yet it resists straightforward commentary or reportage. Instead, by adopting the stance of a “compassionate witness” and drawing on themes such as fragility and strength, sorrow and wonder, loss and resilience, the work becomes a devotional offering—one that gives form to the emotional atmosphere of the present moment.
