Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
“Jodie's work is a kaleidoscope: turned this way just so and all the pieces fall into place as one mandala; turn some more and they disperse, a thousand disparate reflections of each other. And it's beautiful either way.” - Glendening
I long to tell stories of my elders, I dream of receiving ancestral knowledge, and I feel the pain in remembering the lives of those who lived before me. This is where my works often begin… to tell the story of my people, a feeling, a place, a cloud in the sky and everything in between.
My work can take the form of anything and everything. I consider ideas and feelings as my primary medium. Material choice is a strategy rather than a medium to reveal what is here or what is absent and the slippage between. Most recently, I have been using grief as a “medium”, which has resulted in many works resisting categorization, complicating the boundaries of studio work, private life, the act of nourishing, and community service.
