Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME
Matt Boyle (b. 1980, UK) is a Leeds based painter, writer and filmmaker. His work is often exploring the difficult ambiguity within performance, interaction and relationships. His aim is to build up a dialogue of sorts in which to question, confront or challenge the untrustworthy representation and narratives of a place. He nomadically searches at the edges of images, sounds, material for the glancing touch, a throw away comment, unexpected generosity, hidden care, he uses writing, drawing, collage and performance to structure his findings and assemble into paintings and film works.
Boyle has worked collaboratively since 2007, first with artist/ curator/ researcher Adrian Shaw under the moniker boyleANDshaw where they exhibited work in group shows at the British Library (London), Studio Voltaire (London), Royal Academy (London), Romanian Cultural Institute (London), Glasgow CCA, the Reial Cercle Artistic (Barcelona), Clonlea Studios (Co. Dublin, Ireland) Schwarzwaldellee (Basel, Switzerland), Kopavogur Art Museum (Iceland).
Since 2019 Boyle has been collaborating with artist Tara Langford (tara&matt) they have written and directed several short films and music videos, worked with the BFI and national lottery and have screened work at international film festivals including LSFF, Tokyo International, Seoul, Shared Visions and Bolton where they won Best film Made up North for short film Starling.
In 2024 Boyle has upcoming solo show at Espace Vanhomwegen in Brussels (Belgium) September 2025.
