Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME
Ligia Sato is an artist and educator whose work explores the urban environment through the lens of her camera and performance art. Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, one of the most populous cities in the world, she developed an interest in public and urban spaces, investigating how these environments shape our perceptions and behaviors. She holds a degree in Design from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (FAU USP), a photography degree from SENAC, and a MFA from the University at Buffalo. Since 2017, she has participated in various exhibitions in galleries, art institutions, and academic spaces in both Brazil and the United States.
