The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME

(b. Mexico City, Mexico) Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Interdisciplinary visual artist. Graduated in Design and Visual Communication from UNAM, holds a certificate in Contemporary Photography from Academia de San Carlos, and is pursuing a master's degree in Visual Arts from Columbia University. Transformation is a constant subject within their work. As a member of both LGBTQ+ and immigrant communities Francisco has experienced the fluidity of identity, often navigating a journey of self-discovery and acceptance. Ramirez’ practice addresses these issues through photography, painting, printmaking, and book arts. They have exhibited in Mexico, United States, Italy and France, highlighting Unfinished: New Prints 2022/Winter at Print Center New York. Their zines and photo books have been presented at the LA Printed Matter Art Book Fair, Brooklyn Art Book Fair, and ZONA MACO Libros, amongst others. In 2023 they published the artist book Ojos que no ven which was selected as a finalist for the Best Latin American Publication award at FELIFA Festival.
