Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME
Sam Cockrell makes a painting every day of an animal he sees. His art centers around the natural world and the things we all share in existence and understanding. He was born in 1989 in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, and received his BFA from the University of Tennessee and his MFA from Columbia University. His work has been exhibited in New York at International Waters, Mery Gates, Mrs., Subtitled, International Objects, Below Grand, and Unclebrother, among others, as well as at Fjord in Philadelphia, PA. His work has been written about in Two Coats of Paint, White Hot Magazine, and Hyperallergic,. He was nominated for the Rema Hort Mann Emerging Artist Grant in 2016 and 2022. He currently lives and works in Queens, NY.
