Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME

Naomi Basu (b. New Delhi) is a New York-based artist working across painting, embroidery, and animation. Her practice is rooted in traditional Thangka techniques, developed over several years of study with Tibetan master painter Pema Rinzin. Her work has been exhibited at venues including Kate Oh Gallery, Las Contemporary, and Visionary Projects, auctioned by See You Next Thursday, and featured in Hyperallergic. She also supports emerging artists through her curatorial collective, Immaterial Projects.
