The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME

LAUREN PAKRADOONI

 

BIO

Lauren Pakradooni lives in Media, PA. She received an MFA in Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BA from Hampshire College. 

 

Lauren Pakradooni uses printmaking, sculpture, and sound to explore the tension between the natural and built worlds. 

 

Pakradooni has performed and exhibited work with many venues, including solo exhibitions at The Print Center, Philadelphia, PA;  Monaco, Saint Louis, MO; Peep Space, Tarrytown, NY; Skylab, Columbus, OH; IA&A at Hillyer, Washington, DC; the University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX; Space 1026, Philadelphia, PA and Cheymore Gallery Tuxedo, NY.  She has shown in many group exhibitions, including Transmitter Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Planthouse Gallery, New York, NY; and Icebox Project Space, Philadelphia, PA. 

 

She has been awarded residencies by the Women’s Studio Workshop, Wassaic Project, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and Virginia Commonwealth University Qatar. 

 

She considers teaching a part of her creative work and has taught courses in Printmaking, Drawing, Sculpture, and multidisciplinary practices. She is an Assistant Professor of Printmaking at West Chester University, West Chester, PA. Pakradooni is an active member of the community printshop Second State Press in Philadelphia and serves on their board. She is co-operator of Pressure Club, a print publishing project.

2007-24 

Performances Under the Monikers “Tether” and “PAK” Live electronic music performance in a variety of venues from informal spaces of basements to galleries, including Vox Populi, Remote Viewing, Pageant: Soloveev; Philadelphia, PA; Wilfred Yang, Los Angeles, CA; and Nightlight, NC. The experimental music project is based on live and loop tape manipulation and has been recorded and released in Vinyl records, cassette tape, and digital formats.
