Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME
Jared Friedman’s work creates monuments out of common “throw-away” items. By exploring the ambiguity of the unremarkable, through closely observed paintings, he parses the difference between knowing and understanding inanimate objects and architectural space. His work has been presented in solo exhibitions at D.D.D.D. Pictures, New York (2023-24); and group exhibitions at The Hole, New York (2025); FRISSON, New York (2025); SPRING/BREAK Art Show, New York + Los Angeles (2025); Selva, New York (2025); Deli Grocery, New York (2025); Loft Projects NY, New York (2024); Bob’s Gallery, New York (2024); 81 Leonard Gallery, New York (2024); Watercolour Society, New York (2024); Morris Adjmi Architects, New York (2023); Noguchi Museum, New York (2023); NYCxDESIGN, New York (2023); 205 Hudson Gallery, New York (2023); Brooklyn Museum, New York (2013); and Hunter College, New York (2023). He is the recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant in 2023. Friedman received his MFA from Hunter College in May 2023. His work has been featured in Artnet, Hyperallergic, HypeArt, and Two Coats of Paint. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
