The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

Bio
Ian Miyamura (b. 1991 Kailua, HI) lives and works in Baltimore, MD. Shortly after receiving a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013, he received a fellowship from the Luminarts Cultural Foundation of Chicago. Later in 2013 he moved to New York City where he spent six years working in the industry for Takashi Murakami’s studio and at Pranayama Art Inc., where he managed framing projects for galleries such David Zwirner, Gladstone and Michael Werner. Upon acceptance to Maryland Institute College of Art, in 2019, Miyamura received the LeRoy E. Hoffberger Foundation Fellowship. He completed his MFA in 2021. His work has been shown, on occasion, in all of the cities in which he has lived, as well as internationally. In November of 2020, he, along with Carolyn Forrester, co-founded Inadequate Lighting, an exhibition and project space run out of his apartment in Baltimore, MD. In November of 2021 he will attend MASS MoCA’s artist residency program as a fellowship recipient.
