Artist Registry


The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME

Laura Bernstein (b. 1987, NY, NY)  is a multidisciplinary artist who currently lives and works Chicago, Illionois.  She has exhibited her work at NURTUREArt, BRIC, and the Long Island University Humanities Gallery in Brooklyn, NY; Essex Flowers Gallery, PPOW, Geary Contemporary and the Children's Museum of the Arts, New York, NY; The Bronx Museum of the Arts, and BronxArtSpace, Bronx, NY; Vox Populi, FJORD gallery and Icebox Space, in Philadelphia, PA; ArtYard in Frenchtown, NJ; Anytime Dept. Cincinatti, OH; ACRE Projects, Chicago, IL; and Franz Josefs Kai 3, Vienna, Austria. Her work hangs in the permanent collection of the National Dance Institute of New York. She has recieved grants and fellowships from Toby Devan Lewis, The Franklin Furnace Fund and Apexart traveling fellowship. Residencies include: International Studio & Curatorial Program; The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program; The Bronx Museum of the Arts AIM program; The Lighthouse Works Fellowship, Vermont Studio Center Fellowship and The Fabric Workshop and Museum Apprentice Training Program. Bernstein holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA  with a certificate in Time-Based & Interactive Media from the University of Pennsylvania.
