Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

Gregory Hein
studio@gregoryhein.com | www.gregoryhein.com
Gregory Hein is an abstract painter who manipulates words, letterforms and numbers in paintings that engage with the cryptic, the playful, and the commonplace. His paintings echo color-field abstractions made from simple prose aspiring to challenge their own essence. He studied Studio Art and Design earning his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Maryland. His work has exhibited regionally and nationally at galleries and venues including Strathmore Hall, Torpedo Factory, Maryland Art Place and the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. Based in the Washington D.C. Metro area, Hein is currently experimenting with paintings that fuse words and materials to compel abstract shapes to emerge.
