The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

BIO
Irja Bodén (b. Sweden) earned a B.F.A. from SUNY Potsdam and a B.A. from Lund University, Sweden. In the 1990s, she moved to New York City and worked as a student and studio assistant in various ceramic studios.
Solo and two-person exhibitions include Al Held Foundation, Courthouse Gallery, Lake George, NY, and Ely Center of Contemporary Art, New Haven, CT. In 2023, Bodén had her second solo exhibition, Constellations, at Amos Eno Gallery. Her work has been included in group exhibitions such as the Hyde Collection, Glens Falls, NY; Al Held Foundation, Boiceville, NY; Art+Nature+Home with Upstate Diary, Stone Ridge, NY; University Place Gallery, Cambridge, MA; Samuel Dorsky Museum, SUNY New Paltz, NY, and Kin Museum for Contemporary Art, Kiruna, Sweden. Bodén has been awarded residencies, grants, and fellowships, including Byrdcliffe Artist in Residency, Woodstock, Studios at MASS MoCA, the Berkshire Taconic Foundation, and the NYSCA Public Art Fellowship.
The artist lives in Hudson Valley, NY, and maintains an active studio practice.
