The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
My work explores often overlooked domains that appear to be extracts from a moving image
or fragments of an unexplained narrative. Working within limited palattes, my recent landscapes (or painted sketches)
aim to have historical correlations to early prepatory studies or 'under paintings'.
I'm interested in ambiguity and that the images can be read into, often offering more than is suggested.
The locations of the pictures are vague, avoiding indications to a specific time frame.
Consequently there are generic similarities between what we percieve as the familiar and the unknown.
