Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

The vastness of the Montana landscape, where I grew up, had a major influence on my work. The endless space has a rugged beauty that made me feel very insignificant, small and isolated from the rest of the world. I try to create this emotion in my work.

Photos can be like memories. They capture a fleeting flash of a moment in time. I do not intend to take blurry photos but when they show up on my camera, I sometimes find them very intriguing. They evoke my intentions of showing the feeling of isolation and physical detachment from the surroundings.
