Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
The work I make is an inquiry into the nature of painting and seeing. I create intimate, non-representational spatial environments in oil paint, through colour, shape, structure and material relationships. Working improvisationally on various painting surfaces, I play with paradoxical spatial relationships in my paintings, approaching a sense of the pictorial through a direct experience of substance in colour and form relationships. Though I find the painting's compositional logic organically and non-representationally, it often resonates with the familiarity of an encounter with an object, landscape, or interior space.
I have an exploratory material studio practice that is informed by the natural, found, and built environment of the small island in the North-Atlantic where I live. Thinking and reading about the nature of perceptual experience in relation to time, space, the body, and patterns in nature has had a meaningful impact on the way I see and work.
