Body Parts My work reduces both process and materials within the context of an action-oriented, commodity driven reality. Old paintings are recycled into new forms as this traditional medium is submerged in water, molded against the body, and left to dry slowly against bare skin. I use the breath and body heat to observe non-action, a notion that recognizes stillness as a noteworthy force of creation. In this manner, evidence of vitality imparts a perceptible presence despite minimal hands-on activity.
