Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

There is so much detritus filling our environment that I've decided to make it into art.  The carboard boxes so many of us receive daily have become a source of inspiration.   The structure , the cardboard color and the marks that have "marred" the boxes, are my jumping off points

As part of my painting process, I splatter paint, leaving accidental color and marks on my dropcloths. The dropcloths become so intriguing that I've made them into finished paintings by adding intentional areas of paint, ink, and powdered pigment.
