Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

Jen Schwarting is a Bronx-born, Brooklyn-based artist and writer. She received her BFA from Cornell University and her MFA from CalArts.

She has shown her work in galleries and museums in New York including the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Islip Art Museum, Hal Bromm, Regina Rex, Smack Mellon as well as galleries in Los Angeles and abroad. Her work has been reviewed in the New York Times, L Magazine, Hyperallergic and an interview about her "drunk girls" series was featured in Art:21.

Schwarting has also written criticism, essays and interviews for The Brooklyn Rail, Paper Monument, Field Magazine and BOMB. She teaches studio art at Pace University in lower Manhattan.
