STATEMENT OF WORK
I found my process, one day in my darkroom,in the graphic subroutine of printing photographs / I thought wouldnt it be possible TO use a painting technique to make ghosting images like a photogram? It was a lightbulb in the darkroom, literally.
I pursued this technique, & found Not only was the image compelling, it offered something completely new,for me..The graphic effect and possibility makes for example it possible to create using found & repurposed objects ,as well as quite purposed ones. The new group is called Post Industrial Paintings,C.2015,FG.
This is a type of archival painting process , i deploy, the vortex, paint application,Handriven ,at ultra high pressures, creating my works with Ultrathin paint layers. You awalys use the best possible graphic structure you can.
Visually it is the direction> of that older, photographic, Black magic ,only I AM the selective, & directive part of the process. Its of course Now I AM in a way ,mimicing the IJP /mechanism.
While I very much like using paper substrates,&, they offer unique advantages for my process, recently I began works on Canvas,as well. One of the reasons is to be able to complete larger formats which seem a visual necessity today. Using again my process & exploring my ideation,I find my way along this new direction, pursuing that visually familiar ghosted image & its variants. I work in series of images, as it builds a group of snaps I have previsualized. So my work IS suggested by photography but not driven to pursue the slavish copying aspect, of photoimaging, like the photorealists.I am after all,Postmodern .
The favorite device is a industrial airgun,, I utilize this tool, to produce a new kind of graphic language. I thank you for the opportunity to present this visualization.Call & Come visit my studio at MANA #410,.Its worth the trip.
