The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
My work aims to elevate low art materials and ideologies from popular culture. Blurring the lines between high and low art creates a new visual vernacular that simultaneously critiques and celebrates both. Narrative is implied with the ambiguity of appropriated imagery that allows the viewer to form their own associations. A combination of fabricated forms and found objects create dialogue about domesticity and counter culture. Overall, the work employs subtle satire which erodes the barrier between personal and social consciousness.
