The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
I am interested in how the retelling of collective histories defines national and individual identities - registering and confirming belonging, while evoking absence and silence.
How do these narratives affirm who we are and what we think we know?
What and who disappears or remains unrealized through such transmissions, and how are we shaped by these representations and omissions?
Working across a range of media I re-contextualize found and constructed drawings, texts, photographs, films, video, and audio to create inconclusive narratives within the contexts of historiography and story telling.
