The White Columns Curated Artist Registry
is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
I’ve long explored interstitial states: between painting and sculpture, between representation and images, between factual and sensorial, and between real and not real. These polarities can be seen in my work in the ways I combine and contrast materials and use color. Mixing handmade and craft-oriented objects with those that are mass produced or found, or disguising natural materials like clay in artificial colors— making the objects behave in unexpected ways—I am able to emphasize contradictions that are easily overlooked. Color often plays the representational, subjective role of the sensorial and formal strategies are utilized in an attempt to articulate the unarticulatable. Recently I have been particularly interested in contemporary changes in language and consumer culture that commodifies fear.
