The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
My Practice is determined by the human tendency towards mindless behaviour. Through memories of personal experiences the work transmits the social disease relative to mob mentality which still prevails in today's society. The civilised world is always prone to rupture. The claustrophopic chaotic scenes that I depict seem reminiscent of protests, rallies, sporting events or any crowd gatherings that could erupt into social disorder.
Occasionally, the work confronts issues regarding migration and global conflict.
Working from a quick pencil sketch I become totally immersed in the process, embracing the expressive physicality of the paint, rapidly building up the layers in an explosion of considered and spontaneous mark making.
