The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
What I’m interested in is to work on the basis of recordings of reality: a space recorded at a given time will be later reproduced in a different space. To do this, I simplify, distribute, juxtapose, rebuild, use repetitions, variations, progressions, or alignments. During the shooting process already, tools are deliberately modest, user-friendly – Instamatic, Polaroid, automatic photo booth, photocopier, compact camera, mobile phone etc. and will initially determine the small dimensions of the final photographic object, whether this may be a simple 4x6-inch print, a A4 printout copy, a collage or any other assemblage or device. These characteristics involve a special relationship to photography and to the world - through photography.
