The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
I'm a visual/-performance artist and union actress, born in Brussels, Belgium to holocaust survivor parents from Poland. My works are self-taught pinup drawing collages with animal rescues on paper, self-portraits with pinups painting collage/assemblages on canvas, paintings of chinatown and old los angeles facades and fu-dogs which are the mythical dragon cat/dogs who protect the pagodas of chinatown. I've been exhibiting in museums and galleries for over 51 years, nationally and internationally. Am a 6 times grants recipient as well as Getty Museum Sponsored Pacific Standard Time Artist, included in Lyn Kienholz's encyclopedia-L.A.Rising/So CAL Artists Before 1980 among numerous publications/catalogs/books. My works from the 1970s thru current are included the One National LGBTQ Artists Archives USC Library as of January 2016. You can see my current solo exhibition at http://ifac-arts.com/exhibitions/present-exhibitions/simone-gad-animal-rescue-drawings.html
I am also currently included in a traveling exhibition in Holland and Germany for the Summer with 5 of my 3d pinup drawing collages circa 1960s with animal rescues.
