The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
My work explores the illusive characteristics of painting. Much like the consistently obstructed views of an urban windowscape, the layers of the paintings entangle with one another. The primary architectural forms exist in the immediate plane—the solid structures of lines and grids are the tangible entry points separated by the distinct painting methods and various colors employed. A majority of the imagery referenced derive from folded and wrinkled textile patterns to architectural structures such as fences and gates.
