The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
Lourdes Correa-Carlo is an artist whose work includes installations, sculpture, photography, collage and drawings focusing in visual mappings and investigations of vernacular architecture that distorts the division between the public and the private space. The photographic documentation is centered on experience, location and movement of the body in public spaces. She uses the documented experience as a particular point of view to form new ontological positions in the work. Her image-making process gives attention to non-narrative articulations that generate in the installation work an open-ended institutional critique.
