The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Tara Fracalossi holds an MFA from the University at Albany and a BA from the University of Vermont.
Her work has been exhibited at: Masters&Pelavin Gallery, New York, the Kingsgate Gallery, London; the Storefront Artists’ Project, Pittsfield, Ma; Smack Mellon, Brooklyn; The Center for Book Arts, New York, Saratoga Arts, the Center for Photography, Woodstock, The Samuel Dorsky Museum at SUNY New Paltz, Kunsthalle Exnergasse, WUK, Vienna Austria, Galeria Cypriana Majernika, Bratislava Slovakia and the December Store, Brussels Belgium.
She has received two Photographer’s Fund Fellowships from the Center for Photography at Woodstock, a Fulbright travel grant from the US Department of State and several grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Fracalossi is the founding Director of the Teaching Gallery at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York where she is also Assistant Professor of Fine Arts. She lives and works in Kinderhook, NY with her husband, artist Thomas Lail their son, Coltrane and Casey the dog.
