The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
Philadelphia-based artist Matthew Suib has exhibited installations, video and audio works and photographs internationally at venues including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Kunstwerke Berlin, Mercer Union (Toronto), The Corcoran Gallery of Art (D.C.) and PS1 Contemporary Art Center (NYC), the Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), and the 2007 Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art. His 2006 project "Purified By Fire" has been exhibited in Philadelphia and subsequently commissioned for installation in Miami, Paris, Chicago and Toronto. In 2008, Suib began collaborating with Nadia Hironaka. Their video and sound projects have been exhibited at Shang Elements Museum of Contemporary Art (Beijing), Recontres Internationale (Paris), Kim Light/Lightbox (LA), and elsewhere. The duo has exhibited with Locks Gallery in Philadelphia since 2011. Suib received a Guggenheim Fellowship (2015), Pew Fellowship in the Arts (2011), a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts fellowship, and was a member of the Philadelphia artist-cooperative Vox Populi from 2001-2008.
