Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.

RESUME

New York based artist Jamie Diamond works principally with photography, performance and video. Her photographs explore the role of performance and artificiality within the ostensible realism of her medium. Through collaborations with strangers, mimes, professional actors and untrained outsider artists, Diamond uses recognizable photographic genres and role-play to construct events, and forge artificial histories and relationships for the camera She received her MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and BA from the University of Wisconsin and is the recipient of the NYFA Fellowship Award in Photography (2014)and the Toby Devan Lewis Fellowship Award (2008). Diamond has participated in various artist residency programs including: Mass MoCA (2016), Skidmore Artist Residency (2016), The Bronx Museum (2014), Mana Residency (2014), LMCC Swing Space residency (2013), LMCC Work Space residency (2008-2009). Since 2009, Diamond has been lecturing in photography at the University of Pennsylvania and is currently the Undergraduate Photography Coordinator of UPenn?s Fine Art Department. Diamond has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, including Galerie Frank Pages (Geneva), AJL Art (Berlin), Mass MoCA (North Adams), The Bronx Museum (New York), Catherine Edelman (Chicago), Ramis Barquet (New York), Moeller Snow (New York), 601 Art Space (New York), Schick Art Gallery at Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, NY), Old Stone House (Brooklyn), Radiator Gallery (Long Island City), Kunstalle Galapagos (Brooklyn), Jolie Laide (Philadelphia), Cauldron Projekts (Birmingham), Samson Projects (Boston), The Pennsylvania Convention Center (Philadelphia), Projects Gallery (Philadelphia), Michael Steinberg (New York), and Icebox Gallery (Philadelphia). Her work has appeared in numerous publications including The New Yorker, The Philosophy of Photography Journal, The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Barron's Penta Magazine, The Last Magazine, Vanity Fair, Feature Shoot, Hyperallergic, PBS Online Series, The Art Blog, Sky TV, Phaidon, and Dummy Magazine.
