The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
Arnold Jospeh Kemp is a 2016 - 2017 Fellow of the Drawing Center, NY, as a one of the international selection of artists included in Open Sessions. In 2016 he became a professor in the Department of Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Insitute of Chicago where he also was appointed Dean of Graduate Studies. He was a fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation from 2012 - 2013 and his work has also been recognized by The Joan Mitfhell Foundation, The Pollock Krasner Foundation and Printed Matter, Inc. In the summer of 2016 he served as the Distinguished Visiting Faculty at the the San Francisco Art Insitutue. His works are in public and private collections including The Studio Museum in Harlem, The Berkeley Art Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. He has had numerous solo exhibitions in San Francisco, Portland, and New York City. He was Assiociate Curator for visual art at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco from 1993-2003, and Chair of the MFA in Visual Studies Department at Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, OR, 2009 - 2013.
