The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
About the Author:
Once employed producing Solid Surface countertops for retail chains like Sephora, Motherhood Maternity and The Children’s Place, Joshua Caleb Weibley was born the year the first “Animal” book (“Learning the vi Editor”) was published. Recent exhibitions include "Double Solitaire" at et al Projects (2013, New York), "Colophon" at Veronica (2015, Washington), "Cruft" at TRANSFER (2015, New York) and "Drawings" at Klaus von Nichtssagend (2015, New York). He lives in Brooklyn, NY where he recently left a job at the headquarters of online hand-made goods marketplace Etsy. Between the two presentations of his "Animal" drawings in Washington and New York, Etsy acted as a sponsor of O’Reilly Media’s second “Solid” conference, an event similar to these exhibitions in its consideration for the collision of software and hardware fueling a software-enhanced, networked physical world. Weibley is a confirmed Luddite.
