Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

Institute for Southern Contemporary Art (ISCA)

2016
The Institute for Southern Contemporary Art (ISCA) was founded in 2016 by João Enxuto and Erica Love to develop an algorithm that potentiates the highest possible revenue from the sale of contemporary art in the American South or anywhere else considered to be South. The ISCA algorithm analyzes and models art markets to generate a detailed production plan for Southern art that can successfully enter the market flow. ISCA proceeds with the understanding that art is produced as a commodity, it doesn’t become one when it is sold. Revenue from ISCA art products will be used to fund a research institute dedicated to advancing critical art practices that can promote new terms for art production.
