The work I make is concerned with the underlying patterns, structures and rhythms that seem to permeate the whole of reality. Forms in nature that re-appear at all levels of scale fascinate and absorb me. From atoms, to trees, to countries and galaxies, the same shapes can be seen again and again. Spirals, circles, webs and networks can be found within our bodies, in weather patterns and in the cosmos. They affect how we think, how we move and see. They also govern the cycles of growing and changing, living and dying. These paintings explore this geometry that generates and surrounds us. I create visual journeys into worlds of contradiction and complexity, microscopic and vast, interior and exterior, fragmented and interconnected.
