The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
My work varies greatly from project to project, but it all comes from and relates to my surroundings and what I see. Living in Cleveland now, and the midwest for my whole life, I come across store products, societal structure, observations and illusions that inspire me and become mediums that I work with. I think about the monetary values that we place on items, and how it can turn an existing material like gold into something more precious than aluminum. Without this construct, all objects have an equal playing field. Much of what I create works to convey ideas of worth and worthlessness, trickery, misinterpretations, and assumptions in ways that are often manifesting in different forms and media.
