The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
Chris Bors is a New York-based artist whose graphic, post-pop, conceptual works feature a mash-up of images, in which any visuals are fair game for repurposing. His recent paintings, which appropriate logos from hardcore punk bands, are meticulously painted to resemble silkscreen prints, political advertising, or t-shirt graphics. He coined the term "virtual dumpster diving" to describe the practice of taking images and videos from the web.
