The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online catalog of digital images documenting the work of artists who are not affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial staff; in order to be considered for the registry, one must submit work digitally via this website.
My work uses appropriation to turn the formal, ethical, and economic contradictions inherent in commercial culture back upon themselves. My work is often text-based, using literary theory, semiotics, and feminism as a lens to look at the contemporary moment.
Many of my projects are collaborative in nature, and often these collaborative projects appropriate relational aesthetic models for their own political purposes.
My works are often succinct, using humor or irony to momentarily make approachable otherwise overwhelming questions raised by the neoliberal landscape.
