Dean Kessmann lives and works in Washington, DC, where he is Associate Professor of Photography at The George Washington University. Kessmann has had one-person exhibitions at Orlando Museum of Art, Orlando, FL, White Flag Projects, St. Louis, MO, and Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, among others. In addition, his work has been included in group exhibitions at a variety of other venues, including: The Photographic Resource Center, Boston, MA, 1708 Gallery, Richmond, VA, Museum of Religious Art, St. Louis, MO, Project Row Houses, Houston, TX, and ARC Gallery, Chicago, IL. Kessmann’s work and exhibitions have been written about in a variety of publications, including the Contact Sheet, Art Papers, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, and most notably, ARTFORUM magazine.
