Since completing a Bachelor of Fine Art, majoring in Drawing, from RMIT University in 2004, Slattery has shown in numerous solo and group shows in Australia, UK and Canada. He has also been the recipient of several prizes, as well as having served on the board of several artist run spaces, has participated in a number of residencies and in 2009 was a studio artist at Gertrude Street Art Spaces, Melbourne.

His most recent exhibitions include Primavera at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney 2010, Props at Sutton Gallery, Melbourne 2011 and Trust Me at Galerie Desaga, Cologne 2011.
