Thank you for your interest in White Columns!

White Columns Curated Artist Registry is a catalog of online digital images, slides, video and DVD documenting the work of emerging artists. All of the artists in the registry are without commercial gallery representation in New York City and all were accepted by our Director/Chief Curator. The purpose of the registry is twofold: as a source from which White Columns shows are curated; and as a resource for curators, dealers, writers, and others who are seeking the work of emerging artists. The registry is available online and by appointment at White Columns. It is not an open registry to which artists can add their work without review; the Director/Chief Curator selects its contents. In order to be considered for the registry, you must first submit work digitally or with a mail in slide or video submission.

To submit your works digitally please follow the instructions below. We do not review CD ROMS or websites. The only digital submissions that will be reviewed must be generated from our web site. You may submit up to 15 images, a bio and artist statement. You must have an active email address to register for submission. Please take your time and read the directions carefully. If you have any questions you may email info@whitecolumns.org. Please note that due to the volume of emails we receive it may take a few days before you will receive a reply.

To register please fill out all the information.

NOTE: If you do not want your street address or zip code posted in your contact information online please do not fill in these fields, they are not required.

Once you have registered you will be asked to log in.

Log in with your newly generated user name (your email address) and your password. (Please use an active email address that you check frequently. White Columns will use this email to correspond with you and this email will be available online for people to contact you regarding your artwork if you are accepted into the registry.)

Once you have logged in you will be able to begin uploading images to your artist's page.

On the left side of the screen you will see a menu of options, select "add image" and this will take you to a screen where you can begin selecting images to put on your page. A program will format your images for you but if you want them at the largest format the maximum size for an image is: 447 pixels wide and 350 pixels high. For the fasted upload it is recommended that your images are 72 dpi.

Once you have added an image please edit the caption, which includes information such as title, date, medium and dimensions.

Next you will want to choose the categories that apply to your work. Please only choose categories that apply!

Please add your bio/cv and artist statement. Do this by clicking on "edit bio" and "edit statement." You will need to use some basic html commands to format your text. There is an easy to follow guide on simple html commands to use located beneath the box where you enter your text.

Now that you have all your images and text uploaded you should preview the artist page you just created, click "preview gallery" on the left of the screen. You can go back and forth and make as many changes as you like until you are satisfied with your gallery. The preview gallery is just a pop up window so to go back to make changes feel free to close that window.

The last step is to log out.

You will be notified via email once your work has been reviewed by Matthew Higgs/Director Chief Curator of White Columns.

Thank you.
